Kyokushin Karate
The Way of Real Fighting

Kyokushin Karate is known worldwide as one of the most intense and realistic styles of traditional karate. It is a full-contact, no-protection martial art that emphasizes real combat, both physically and mentally.

Unlike sport-oriented systems, Kyokushin does not use gloves, helmets or padding in sparring or competition – only a mouthguard and groin protection. This approach fosters true fighting spirit, courage, and resilience.

What Makes Kyokushin Unique?

  • 💥 Full-contact sparring (kumite) with low kicks, body punches, head kicks, and knee strikes
  • ✊ No punches to the head in classic Kyokushin – but in advanced systems like Shinken Shobu, punches to the head are allowed
  • 🔥 No Olympic-style point sparring – only real impact and control matter
  • 🧠 Mental fortitude, endurance and respect are forged through hard training

The Spirit of Kyokushin

“The heart of our Karate is real fighting.
There can be no proof without real fighting.
Without proof, there is no trust.
Without trust, there is no respect.”

This philosophy is not just words – it’s a way of life. At Taiga Dojo, we embody it in every session, every technique, every drop of sweat.

100-Man Kumite: The Ultimate Test

Kyokushin is also legendary for the 100-man kumite: a test of pure willpower, where a single fighter must face 100 consecutive opponents in full-contact sparring. Each round lasts 1.5–2 minutes – and the challenge is as mental as it is physical.
